Object storage buckets
Buckets are created and updated through the Thalassa Cloud API and the console. Each bucket belongs to a region.
On create or update, set the policy field to a bucket policy. You can also set versioning, lifecycle configuration, and object lock on the bucket.
Object keys
Object keys may be at most 1024 bytes. Spaces and Unicode are allowed. Keys must not contain .., //, a leading or trailing /, or control characters.
The same rules apply to keys you put in a bucket policy resource ARN, such as arn:thalassa:s3:::my-bucket/folder/file.txt.
Versioning, lifecycle, and object lock
Versioning keeps prior versions of an object so you can read or delete a specific version. Lifecycle configuration automates expiry and transitions. Object lock sets retention and legal hold for compliance.
Bucket policy actions for these features are listed under Actions you can grant. Version actions such as s3:GetObjectVersion and s3:ListBucketVersions apply when versioning is enabled.
Data safety
Enable versioning for data you need to recover. Keep a copy of critical data outside this bucket, for example with another provider. Use object tags to organise objects and to drive lifecycle rules.
